All applicants aged 12 years and older must personally attend their appointment at the Visa Application Centre for biometric data capture and application submission.

For children under 12 years old, personal attendance is only required for the purpose of identity verification.

Visa Application Fees

In order to apply for a visa, you will have to pay a visa fee and a service fee.

Visa fee - collected for the German Mission;
Service fee - collected for the processing of your visa application at TLScontact.

Attention: Payment of the visa fee and the service fees do not give any guarantee or right that a visa will be granted. The visa fee and service fee are both non-refundable and non-transferable if the visa application is denied by the staff of the German Mission or if the applicant decides to withdraw the application.

The visa fee is fixed in EUR but payable only in GBP. The exchange rate between these currencies is decided by the German Missions and is updated periodically, therefore the payable amount may differ from those quoted above. Please note that your visa application fee receipt will only quote the fee paid in GBP.

The service fee is mandatory for any visa application. This amount has been decided in agreement with the German Government and corresponds to the different services provided by the TLScontact centre (i.e. visa application reception, data processing, information collection, appointment booking, etc.).
