Please follow these steps in order to apply for a Schengen visa. A Schengen visa allows a maximum stay of 90 days within a period of 180 days in the Schengen countries. Germany must be your main travel destination.

Please note that you can collect your passport on the day you submit your visa application provided you present a complete copy of the passport (with all pages stamped and blank pages).

Please note: The visa service of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Tunis takes fingerprints (10 fingers) and a digital photo of third-country nationals, from the age of 12, unless it is physically impossible to take the fingerprints.

Fingerprint exemption: As a general rule, all applicants are required to provide their biometric data (fingerprints and photograph); only applicants belonging to one of the following categories are exempt:- Children strictly under 12 years old;- Applicants who are physically unable to give their fingerprints (amputations, injuries). However, if fingerprinting is possible for at least one finger, the applicant must go through the biometrics step. In the case of a temporary disability (bandage, plaster, etc.), the applicant must still appear in person in order to give as many impressions as possible. He must also present himself in person during the next visa application if only part of the fingerprints could be taken;Schengen visa applicants who have already obtained a Schengen visa issued during the previous 59 months and marked "VIS". It is compulsory to provide the photocopy of the visa sticker.In any case, it is still possible that the consular authority may require the fingerprinting to be redone.

NB: If the mention "VIS 0" is indicated on the last Schengen visa sticker of the applicant, the applicant must come in person to submit their biometric data, the mention "VIS 0" confirming the collection of alphanumeric data but not fingerprints digital.
