Visa Application Fees

To apply for a visa you will need to pay:

  • Visa fees - collected on behalf of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Dar Es Salaam;
  • Service Fee - collected for the processing of your visa application at the TLScontact centre.

Please note: Payment of visa fees and service charges does not guarantee that a visa will be granted. Visa fees and service charges are non-refundable or transferable if the visa application is refused by the administration or if the applicant decides to terminate their application.

Short stay Schengen visa, less than 90 days:

  • Children under the age of 6;
  • Family members of EU-citizens and Swiss nationals (Family = Father, mother, children or stepchildren, spouse, in particular cases also parents; claim must be supported by birth- or marriage certificate and valid proof of EU nationality);
  • Some individuals may be entitled to a free visa fee. If this is the case, a refund will be organized after submitting the application.

The visa fee is fixed in EUR but payable in TZS only. The exchange rate between these currencies is decided by the German Missions and is updated periodically, therefore the payable amount may differ from those quoted above. Please note that your visa application fee receipt will only quote the fee paid in TZS.

The service fee, mandatory for any visa application, is EUR 39/ TZS 118,000. This amount has been decided in agreement with the Consular Authority and corresponds to the different services provided by the TLScontact centre (i.e. visa application reception, data processing, information collection, appointments booking, etc.).
