New appointment system for short-stay German visa applications

New appointment system for short-stay German visa applications

5/18/2026

Starting on June 1st, 2026, TLScontact is introducing a new appointment system for short-stay German visas at its visa application centres in London and Manchester. Instead of selecting and booking an appointment online, applicants will be automatically allocated an appointment, based on availability.

What types of visas are affected?

This new system will be put in place for the following visa types:

  • Tourism (less than 90 days)
  • Medical treatment (less than 90 days)
  • Family/friends visit (less than 90 days)
  • Business (less than 90 days)

For all other visa types, the appointment booking system remains unchanged.

How to get an appointment

  1. For short-stay visa applicants, the new process will be as follows:
  2. Register on the TLScontact website and provide the required information about your application.
  3. Once your application is validated, a confirmation message will indicate that it has been received and placed in a queue. An appointment will be assigned to you on a first come, first served basis.
  4. You will receive an email notification when an appointment is allocated to you.You will have 24 hours to pay the service fee and confirm your appointment.

Why this change?

This new process is being implemented to protect visa applicants from fraudulent and costly third-party agencies, and ensure fair and equitable access to visa appointments for all legitimate applicants.
