Attention: For Libyans and foreigners residing in Libya, please submit your visa application for Germany on this website.

Please note: The visa department of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Tunis takes fingerprints (10 fingers) and a digital photo of third-country nationals from the age of 12, unless it is physically impossible to take fingerprints.

Fingerprint exemption: As a general rule, all applicants are required to provide their biometric data (fingerprints and photograph). Only applicants in one of the following categories are exempt:

• Children strictly under the age of 12;
• Applicants who are physically unable to provide their fingerprints (amputations, injuries). However, if fingerprinting is possible for at least one finger, the applicant must complete the biometrics step. In the case of temporary incapacity (bandage, cast, etc.), the applicant must still appear in person to provide as many fingerprints as possible. They will also have to appear in person for their next visa application if only part of the fingerprints could be taken;
• Schengen visa applicants who have already obtained a Schengen visa issued within the previous 59 months and marked "VIS". It is mandatory to provide a copy of the visa sticker.

In any case, the consular authority may still require the applicant's fingerprints to be taken again.

NB: If the mention "VIS 0" appears on the applicant's last Schengen visa sticker, the applicant must appear in person to provide their biometric data. The mention "VIS 0" confirms the collection of alphanumeric data, but not digital fingerprints.
