Visa Application Fees
To apply for a visa, you are required to pay:
- Visa fee – charged by the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Kampala;
- Service fee – charged by TLScontact for processing your visa application.
Please note: Payment of the visa fee and service fee does not guarantee or entitle you to the issuance of a visa. The visa fee and service fee are non-refundable and non-transferable if the visa application is refused by the German Embassy or if the applicant decides to withdraw their application.

The service fee, mandatory for any visa application, is UGX 172,000.00 (EUR 39.00). This amount has been decided in agreement with the Consular Authority and corresponds to the different services provided by the TLScontact centre (i.e. visa application reception, data processing, information collection, appointment booking, etc.).
The visa fee is fixed in EUR but payable in UGX using a bank debit/credit card or MTN Mobile Money only. The conversion of these charges into UGX depends on the current exchange rate set by the German Embassy in Kampala and is updated periodically. Therefore, the amount payable may differ from the amount quoted above. Please note that your visa application fee receipt will only show the amount paid in UGX.
