A new on-demand visa application centre will open in Mombasa.

Appointments will be available online and sessions will take place twice per month:

  • 1st week: Wednesday and Thursday
  • 3rd week: Wednesday and Thursday

TLScontact is pleased to announce the introduction of a new visa application method for the German visas below:

  • Blue Card (EU)
  • Visa to take up work as a skilled worker with professional training
  • Visa to take up employment as an academic
  • Visa for conducting a qualification analysis
  • Visa for vocational training and advanced vocational training
  • Visa for study purposes and seeking a university place
  • This measure has been put in place to optimise the application process, due to new German consular regulations.

The receipt of national visa applications in the categories of

  • Skilled workers with vocational training qualification (Section 18a of the German Residence Act)
  • Skilled workers holding a university degree (Section 18b of the Residence Act)
  • EU Blue Card (Section 18g of the Residence Act)
  • Advanced vocational training (Section 16a of the Residence Act) andInternships and training programmes (Sections 16a and 16e of the Residence Act and Section 15 of the Ordinance on the Employment of Foreigners)

will be outsourced to the external service provider TLScontact from 02.09.2024. New registrations for appointments in the categories mentioned above on the appointment waiting list of the German Embassy Nairobi are therefore no longer possible. Already registered applicants who have not yet been assigned an appointment to submit their application to the embassy must book a new appointment to submit their visa applications to TLScontact from 02.09.2024.

As per Commission Delegated Regulation 2024/1415 amending Regulation (EC) No 810/2009 as regards the amount of visa fees, Schengen visa fees will increase from 80 EUR to 90 EUR for short-stay visas for adults and from 40 to 45 EUR for short-stay visas for children from 6 to 12 years.

The new visa fee will come into force on 11 June 2024.

From Saturday, 11 June 2022, 12pm/0.00h CET, all COVID-19-related restrictions for entry into Germany will preliminarily be lifted. From that date, travel from Kenya to Germany will be permitted for all travel purposes. For entry into Germany no proof of vaccination, recovery or testing is required any longer.
